Daywise itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Thimphu - Gateway to Tranquility
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, drive to the capital city Thimphu (approx. 1.5 hours). En route, visit Tamchog Lhakhang , known for its iron chain bridge crafted by Thangtong Gyalpo. After hote l check -in, spend your evening exploring Norzin Lam , lined with traditional shops, caf's, and local markets. Begin your journey with a taste of Bhutanese hospitality and cuisine.
Day 2: Exploring Thimphu - Art, Culture & Harmony
Start your day at the towe ring Buddha Dordenma , offering stunning views of the valley. Visit the Memorial Chorten , a spiritual center buzzing with local devotion. Then explore the Folk Heritage Museum , Textile Museum , and the School of Arts & Crafts to witness traditional Bhutanese artistry. In the evening, visit the imposing Tashichho Dzong , the administrative and monastic seat of Thimphu.
Day 3: Journey to Punakha - Snow -Capped Passes & Valleys
After breakfast, drive toward Punakha , crossing the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100 m) , where 108 stupas frame the panoramic Himalayan skyline. Stop for a tea break and photos before descending into the lush Punakha Valley. On arrival, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong , Bhutan's most picturesque fortress. End the day with a riverside walk or a visit to the Suspension Bridge , one of Bhutan's longest.
Day 4: Hidden Trails of Punakha - Culture & Nature
Today, explore Punakha beyond the usual. Visit Chimi Lhakhang , the 'Fertility Temple' dedicated to the Divine Madman, walking through picture sque rice paddies. In the afternoon, take a short hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten , a stunning hilltop temple with sweeping valley views. Enjoy the evening at leisure amid the tranquil valley, watching the Mo Chhu River meander by.
Day 5: Punakha to Paro - Serenity & Spiritual Transition
Post breakfast, journey to Paro (approx. 4 hours). After check -in, visit Rinpung Dzong , a fortress - monastery with stunning architecture. Continue to Ta Dzong , now the National Museum , to discover Bhutan's ancient tre asures. Later, stroll through Paro town , enjoy some retail therapy, or try traditional butter tea at a local caf'.
Day 6: Hike to the Tiger's Nest - Bhutan's Crown Jewel
After an early breakfast, embark on the spiritual and physical highlight of your trip - the Tiger's Nest Monastery (Taktsang) hike. Perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley, the monastery rewards you with awe -inspiring views and an atmosphere of deep serenity. After the descent, enjoy a traditional hot stone bath (optional) and wrap up the day with a farewell Bhutanese feast.
Day 7: Departure from Paro - Farewell to the Himalayas
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Paro International Airport. Depart with the soul - stirring peace of Bhutan, a land where nature and spirituality walk hand in hand.
