Daywise itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Thimphu - The Gentle Capital
Arrive at Paro International Airport and drive to Thimphu , a serene capital that blends modernity and tradition (1.5 hrs). En route, visit Tamchog Lhakhang , set beside a chain bridge. Once checked in, unwind and enjoy an evening stroll along Norzin Lam , visit local craft markets, and settle into Bhutan's unhurried rhythm.
Day 2: Discover Thimphu - Monasteries, Museums & Mountain Vistas
Start your day at the massive Buddha Dordenma statue for valley vie ws. Continue to the Memorial Chorten , a spiritual center for locals, followed by a visit to the Textile Museum , Folk Heritage Museum , and School of Arts & Crafts . After lunch, head to the Takin Preserve and end your day at the impressive Tashichho Dzong , seat of the government and monastery.
Day 3: Drive to Punakha - Across the Dochula Pass
After breakfast, journey to Punakha via the breathtaking Dochula Pass (3,100 m) , offering views of 108 chortens and snow -clad Himalayan peaks. On arrival in Punakha, visit the spectacular Punakha Dzong , Bhutan's most beautiful fortress where the royal wedding took place. Later, take a short walk to the charming Suspension Bridge and enjoy riverside views. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 4: Punakha to Paro - Serenity in the Valley
After breakfast, depart for Paro (approx. 4 hrs). Upon arrival, check in and explore the historic Rinpung Dzong , then walk across the traditional wooden bridge an d visit the nearby Ta Dzong , now the National Museum . Enjoy your evening in Paro town, browsing handicrafts or sipping Bhutanese butter tea in a local cafe.
Day 5: Hike to Tiger's Nest - Bhutan's Spiritual Icon
This day is reserved for the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) trek. A moderately challenging 4 - 5-hour hike rewards you with surreal views of the monastery perched on a cliff. Soak in the spiritual energy of this sacred site. On your return, opt for a traditional hot stone bath to ease your m uscles, followed by a farewell Bhutanese dinner.
Day 6: Departure from Paro
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before your transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure. Carry home cherished memories of Bhutan's serene beauty, warm culture, and mountai n magic.
