Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival in Thimphu - Welcome to the Land of the Thunder Dragon
Arrive at Paro International Airport and transfer to Thimphu , Bhutan's charming capital nestled in the Himalayas (approx. 1.5 hrs drive). On the way, stop by Tamchog Lhakhang , a 15th -century iron chain bridge site. Once in T himphu, check in and relax. In the evening, take a walk along Norzin Lam , explore local handicrafts, and enjoy your first taste of Bhutanese cuisine at a traditional restaurant.
Day 2: Explore Thimphu - Culture, Monks & Mountain Views
After breakfast, emb ark on a full -day city tour. Visit the Buddha Dordenma , an enormous golden statue overlooking the valley. Stop by the National Memorial Chorten , a spiritual hub, then head to Folk Heritage Museum and School of Arts and Crafts . Visit Tashichho Dzong , the majestic seat of Bhutan's government, and wrap up your day with a panoramic viewpoint at BBS Tower .
Day 3: Transfer to Paro - Dzongs, Valleys & Tranquility
After breakfast, drive to the scenic town of Paro (approx. 1.5 - 2 hrs). En route, enjoy lush river valleys and traditional architecture. Once in Paro, check into your hotel and later visit Rinpung Dzong , a fortress -monastery offering sweeping views of the valley. Stroll along Paro town's quaint lanes , lined with handicraft shops and caf es.
Day 4: Tiger's Nest Trek - Bhutan's Iconic Experience
This day is dedicated to the famous hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) - perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the valley. The trek takes 4 - 5 hours round -trip and is one of the most rewarding spiritual and scenic experiences in Bhutan. After descending, enjoy a traditional hot stone bath (optional) and spend your final evening soaking in the Himalayan peace.
Day 5: Departure from Paro
After breakfas t, check out and transfer to Paro International Airport. Bid farewell to the peaceful kingdom with a heart full of Himalayan memories and spiritual calm.
