Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival in Colombo - Transfer to Dambulla, the Cultural Cradle
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo and head toward Dambulla (approx. 4 - 5 hrs). En route, enjoy lush countryside views and Sri Lanka's rural charm. Check into your hotel an d later visit the remarkable Dambulla Cave Temple , a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring over 150 statues and vivid murals of Buddha. Unwind in the peaceful setting of the Cultural Triangle.
Day 2: Dambulla to Kandy - Temples, Spices & Dance
After breakf ast, proceed to Kandy (approx. 2.5 - 3 hrs). Stop at Matale Spice Garden to learn about Sri Lanka's traditional spices. Upon reaching Kandy, visit the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and enjoy a peaceful stroll along Kandy Lake . In the evening, witness a colorful Kandyan dance performance and check in to your hotel for a serene hill -station night.
Day 3: Kandy to Yala - Journey to the Wild South
Depart early for Yala National Park (approx. 5 - 6 hrs), one of the best places in As ia to spot leopards in the wild. On arrival, check into your lodge and rest briefly. In the afternoon, go on a thrilling Yala jeep safari , where you might encounter elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, peacocks, and of course, elusive leopards. Return to th e lodge for dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Yala to Bentota - From Jungle to Gentle Shores
After breakfast, begin the scenic coastal drive to Bentota (approx. 5.5 - 6 hrs). Upon arrival, check in to your beach resort and relax on the soft sands of Bentota Be ach. Enjoy the golden sunset, take a refreshing dip in the sea, or unwind at your resort spa. A peaceful coastal evening awaits you.
Day 5: Bentota - Leisure Day with River Safari Option
Enjoy a free day at leisure. For adventure seekers, opt for a Madu River boat safari, gliding through mangroves and small islands. Nature lovers can visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery and learn about turtle conservation. You can also enjoy water sports like jet skiing, banana boat rides, or windsurfing. Rest of the day at leisure by the sea.
Day 6: Bentota to Colombo - Capital Culture & Cosmopolitan Life
Post breakfast, drive to Colombo (approx. 2 hrs). Upon arrival, take a city tour covering Galle Face Green, Old Parliament, Independence Square, and Gangaramaya Temple. Shop at Pettah Bazaar or Dutch Hospital Precinct and enjoy Colombo's rich fusion of colonial charm and urban buzz. End the day with a rooftop dinner and sunset views
Day 7: Departure from Colombo
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your return flight. Depart with a travelogue filled with sacred caves, jungle safaris, serene coasts, and vibrant cityscapes.
