Day 1: Arrival in Colombo - En Route to Kandy, the Cultural Capital
Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport , proceed to Kandy , Sri Lanka's spiritual and cultural heart (approx. 3.5 - 4 hrs drive). En route, visit the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage , where you can watch gentle giants bathe and feed. After reaching Kandy, check in and unwind. In the evening, enjoy a Kandyan cultural dance show before a warm local dinner.
Day 2: Explore Kandy - Sacred Sites & Botanical Beauty
After breakfast, begin with a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic , a UNESCO World Heritage Site and spiritual epicentre. Stroll around Kandy Lake , then visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, famous for its orchid collection and lush greenery. Shop for souvenirs, gemstones, and local spices at the Kandy market before returning to your hotel for a relaxed evening.
Day 3: Drive to Nuwara Eliya - The Tea -Scented Highlands
Post breakfast, drive to Nuwara Eliya , the cool -climate town often referred to as 'Little England' (approx. 2.5 hrs). Stop at a tea plantation and witness tea plucking and processing firsthand. Once in Nuwara Eliya, explore Gregory Lake , the colonial Post Office , and enjoy a peaceful walk amidst rose gardens. Check into your cozy hill-station hotel and enjoy the evening mist.
Day 4: Transfer to Colombo - From Hills to the Urban Buzz
After breakfast, descend from the hills to reach Colombo (approx. 5 - 6 hrs). Once in the city, enjoy a brief Colombo city tour including Independence S quare , Gangaramaya Temple , and Galle Face Green . Visit shopping areas like Crescat Boulevard or explore the bustling Pettah Market . Enjoy your final evening with a beachfront dinner or a rooftop bar experience.
Day 5: Departure from Colombo
After breakfas t, transfer to Colombo International Airport for your departure. Leave with a soul refreshed by misty mountains, sacred traditions, and Sri Lankan warmth.
